Birdies and Bogeys

Birdie: By Jack Fields, Pinecrest High golf star, for calling a penalty on himself during a tight match at the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship. While putting for birdie and a chance to steal the momentum in the match-play portion of the national championship, the young Fields noticed that his ball moved slightly. No one else saw it. He called the one-stroke penalty that eventually cost him the match. By his action, Fields reminded us all that character counts by doing the right thing when no one is watching. Thanks, Jack!
