The Black Arts Festival scheduled for Saturday has been canceled, according to a decision announced to The Pilot Friday by Chairwoman Mildred Waddell-Wells.

Wells said the sixth annual festival will be scheduled at a later date to be announced.

Wells told The Pilot just before deadline for FridayÕs edition that the festival was going on Òrain or shine,Ó despite weather forecasts of heavy rain associated with Hurricane Charley. The rever-sal of those plans didnÕt come to revise the article.
