RCC Offers Several Arts and Crafts Classes

Randolph Community College will offer several Arts & Crafts classes in September. At the Archdale Campus, “Floral Arrangements for Beginners” will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m., Tuesdays, Sept. 2 - 30. In this class, students will learn the basics of flower arranging from an experienced floral designer. The course covers basic floral design, holidays designs, bow-making, silk flower arranging, wedding designs, and more. Cost is $40, plus approximately $40 for supplies.

A similar course on the Asheboro Campus, “Floriculture Basics” will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesdays, Sept. 9 - Nov. 18. Students in this class will learn the basics of flower arranging and running a successful floriculture business either from home or in a florist shop. The cost is $55.

Get an early start on the holidays and learn to make Christmas ornaments of early Christian symbols with pearl beads, gold and silver wires, and small figures. This “Chrismons” class will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Mondays, from Sept. 8 - Nov. 17. A second class is offered from 9 to 11:30 a.m., Tuesdays, Sept. 9 - Nov. 18. Cost is $45 for both these classes to be held on the Archdale Campus.

If you’ve always wanted to try your hand at painting, join an “Oil, Acrylic & Watercolor” class at the Asheboro and Archdale Campuses or at Brower’s Studio in Liberty. Classes in Asheboro are set for 9 - 11:30 a.m., Wednesdays, Sept. 3 - Nov. 12, or Thursdays, Sept. 4 - Nov. 6. Archdale Campus classes will be held on Wednesdays, Sept. 10 - Nov. 19, with a choice of times: 9 - 11:30 a.m. or 12:30 to 3 p.m. Classes begin at Brower’s Studio in Liberty on Sept. 2 and 4. The Sept. 2 - Nov. 4 class meets on Tuesdays from 9 to 11:30 a.m.; the Sept. 4 - Nov. 6 class from 7 to 9:30 p.m. on Thursdays.
