The Fayetteville Symphony offers the only opportunity, within a 90-mile radius of Fayetteville, for talented non-professional musicians to play in a community orchestra.
The upcoming season will be pivotal for the Fayetteville Symphony. After reviewing more than 100 candidates in a nationwide search for a conductor/music director, the Board of Directors selected three finalists, each of whom will conduct a concert during the 47th season. Musicians who play with the Symphony this season will have an opportunity to participate in the selection process.
“This is the year to play with the Fayetteville Symphony,” said Kate Foster, executive director of the Fayetteville Symphony orchestra. “Musicians have a great opportunity to impact the future of orchestral music in the area.”
Founded in 1956, the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra is the oldest community orchestra in North Carolina and the oldest locally composed performing arts organization in Fayetteville and Cumberland County.
