RCC Offers Computer Classes

Randolph Community College will offer several computer classes at the county libraries and at RCC’s main campus during the fall semester.

The classes, designed to help those who want to enter or reenter the workforce, are being funded by a Digital Literacy grant through the Rural Internet Access Authority’s e-NC initiative. Cost is $55. August classes will be held at the Asheboro, Archdale and Seagrove public libraries.

“Computer Skills for the Complete Beginner” will be held Aug. 18-27, Mondays and Wednesdays, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Asheboro Public Library. It will be offered Aug. 18-29, Mondays and Fridays, from 9 a.m.-noon at the Archdale Public Library. A third class will be offered Aug. 19-28, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9 a.m.-noon at the Seagrove Public Library.

Additional classes scheduled for September through December include “Software for Career Development,” which provides an introduction to software programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access commonly used in the workplace, and “Internet & E-Mail for the World of Work,” which provides a working knowledge for navigating the Internet and using E-mail.
