New Owner Purchases Chef’s Equipment Station BY MELISSA BREEDLOVE: Staff Writer The Chef’s Equipment Station in downtown Southern Pines has changed ownership. Cliff Worsham, who operated the store for many years, recently sold the business to Trey Galloway of Aberdeen. Galloway, an 11-year veteran of the hospitality industry, owns and operates Quewhiffle Restaurant near Aberdeen. Worsham says he is looking forward to retirement and spending time with his family. He and his late nephew, Ray Cummings, operated the retail equipment store for 15 years. The duo offered kitchen design help and restaurant equipment supplies and services to many in the Sandhills over the years. “I’m going to spoil my grandchildren and great-greandchildren,” Worsham says. Galloway says opening a food service equipment store fulfills a dream. “I’ve always had an interest in this part of the industry,” he says. “Starting a restaurant on a shoestring budget has shown me how important good service and good products at a fair price can be. Because of that, I want to continue to help restaurant owners by filling a need here in this community.” Galloway says the store offers specific items for the professional but is also a source for homeowners. Born in St. Joseph’s hospital, the 39-year-old Galloway is a Sandhills native. He and his wife, Michelle, and their three children make their home in Aberdeen. The Chef’s Equipment Station is located at 105 E. Connecticut Ave. |
