Arts in the Park Begins Aug. 19 At Pinehurst’s Camelot Park
Beginning Saturday, Aug.19, the Arts Council of Moore County and the Pinehurst Parks and Recreation Department will present the first of three “Arts in the Park” events at Camelot Playground in Cannon Park, Pinehurst.
The first performance of “Arts in the Park” will feature the high-energy antics of Mark Lippard, juggler and unicyclist at 11 a.m. The performance is free and open to the public. In case of rain, the performance will be in Assembly Hall of the Village Hall (395 Magnolia Road, Pinehurst). Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets to sit on during the performance.
As one of the top variety entertainers around, Lippard’s show includes comedy, juggling, trick unicycling and audience participation. He has appeared on ABC’s “Good Morning America” and many other television stations across the country. Since 1986, he has performed professionally across the United States, Jamaica, Japan and Russia.
Prior to the performance, Kim Kirkpatrick will provide free face painting from 10 to 10:45 a.m. To satisfy a sweet tooth, TCBY Treats will also be selling frozen yogurt and the Veterans of Foreign Wars will be selling soft drinks.
The next two “Arts in the Park” will feature Pamlico Joe on Aug. 26, and “Tangle of Tales” by the Grey Seal Puppets on Sept. 9.
