United Way Pacesetters Tip Off ‘99 Campaign
United Way season is almost here again, and this year’s pacesetters are off and running.
The pacesetter campaign, United Way of Moore County’s version of preseason basketball, kicked off last week with a goal of raising 15 percent of this year’s total campaign goal of $575,000.
This year’s pacesetters include CP&L, First Savings Bank, Gulistan Carpet, Perdue, Proctor Silex, Stanley Furniture, Ingersoll-Rand, Belk, Moore County Schools, the Town of Southern Pines and UPS — all working to raise donations before the campaign begins in full.
The United Way of Moore County will tip off its regular season Sept. 13 with a basketball showdown at the Southern Pines municipal basketball court on Broad Street.
