CAC and the College of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State will have the Mobile Veterinary Hospital from the Veterinary School on hand for the day and it will be located in the courtyard at Opulence on Broad Street and Connecticut Avenue. CAC will be located under the awning of the Mobile Veterinary Hospital.
Companion Animal Clinic (CAC) of the Sandhills is currently in the midst of a capital campaign to raise money for a regional low cost spay/neuter clinic that will include both fixed and mobile units in an attempt to reduce the number of unwanted domestic animals in our area. The mobile unit which will be on display at Spring Fest is similar to the mobile unit that CAC will operate in Moore and surrounding counties.
CAC and the N.C. State College of Veterinary Medicine are working together to raise public awareness for the need to spay and neuter companion animals as a solution to the tremendous cat and dog overpopulation problem in Moore County and Central North Carolina.
CAC is dedicated to eliminating the euthanasia of abandoned and unwanted animals in our community through a proactive low cost spay/neuter program, community education and volunteer involvement. CAC is also working closely with the NC State Veterinary College to help plan and implement a community education program.
“The public is invited to stop by and find out more about CAC at Springfest,” says a spokesman.
CAC will hold a raffle for a dog bed (valued at $60) donated by Carrie Larsen of The Cared for Canine and Cat in Southern Pines.
CAC is one of the recipients of the 2006 “The Dog Days of Summer It’s the Cat’s Meow” fundraising event sponsored by the Pinehurst Business Guild. (The two other recipients are the Moore Free Clinic and Tufts Archives.) One of the artistically created dogs/cats will be on display at the CAC booth.
CAC will also have information on the preview party which is the first presentation of the artist’s dogs and cats.
The party will be held at the Pinehurst Fair Barn on May 18, between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $30 per person and are also available at The Faded Rose, 90 Magnolia Street in Pinehurst or Isarose, 220 N.W. Broad Street in Southern Pines.
