The Vikings, now 2-2 in the Tri-County Conference and 5-6 overall, will try to keep things going tonight when they entertain Asheboro in a 7 p.m. start.
With their bats still on the quiet side, the Vikings turned to their pitching and defense to win by one run for the third time in a row.

McLean, a sophomore, struck out eight and walked two. He got a fly out to left field in the bottom of the seventh with the tying run aboard to end it. He also picked up the win with one inning of pitching in the Vikings' 7-6 victory over North Moore on Monday.
The Vikings were held to two hits by Trinity pitcher Josh Roberts with John Newton going two-for-three with an RBI.
The Bulldogs dropped to 2-3, 4-7 overall.
