Directed by Dustin Mosko, the play is presented by the Arts Council of Moore County and sponsored by Bank of America. For a month, the cast and crew have been working hard to learn their lines, paint the sets, hang the lights, and do everything needed to bring the show to life.
Based on the book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, this wonderful story tells of a world-weary aviator who is stranded in the middle of the Sahara Desert after his plane crashes. Then a mysterious, regal little boy appears and asks him to draw a sheep. The aviator is annoyed and distracted from his crisis — unaware that he is about to have a transforming experience.
By learning that “what is essential is invisible to the eye,” the aviator comes to a new understanding of how to laugh, cry, and love again.
