Nominations Sought For Volunteer Awards

The Moore County Volunteer Center and the North Carolina Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the Outstanding Volunteer Service Award for 2003. This award is presented each year to groups, individuals, businesses, youth groups and Seniors whose volunteer services have made a significant, important or unique contribution to our community in the past year.

The recipients of this award will be honored by Moore County in a local ceremony to be held at a later date. Through an evaluation and selection process, these nominees will be recommended to receive the North Carolina Award offered through the NC Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service. Last year, two volunteer groups, and three individuals from Moore County were among over 500 North Carolinians that received the award presented by Governor Easley.

Nomination forms may be obtained by calling or visiting The Moore County Volunteer Center/RSVP office, 2nd Floor Historic Courthouse, Carthage, 947-6395. Forms are also available on the following Moore County Government Website, www.co.moore.nc.us/jobs/RSVP/pages/index.htm.

Applications will be accepted until May 23.
