‘Reflections’ Winners Announced

North Carolina PTA recently announced the state winners of the annual Reflections program. The Reflections program is designed to encourage students to express their creative talents through the cultural arts. Original works may be submitted in literature, music, visual arts and photography.

Alisha Brooke Epley, Sandhills Farm Life Elementary School, won third place in the literature category. Robert Edens, Pinehurst Elementary, won third place in the music category.

The 2002-2003 theme was “Signs of Courage…” First place state winners have been sent to the National PTA for judging at the National PTA level. National winners will be announced in May. To advance to the National judging level, entries must first win locally, district-wide and statewide.

Thousands of students throughout North Carolina participate in the Reflections program and receive recognition for their outstanding achievement.
