POLICE BRIEFS: Southern Pines Man Charged in Five Break-Ins

Police have charged a Southern Pines man in connection with five break-ins that happened in late July and early August.

Southern Pines police Sgt. Rodney Dozier arrested Paul Reagan, 19, Friday night. Police had been investigating break-ins earlier that night at Barbra’s Hair Team on Broad Street and an attempted break-in at Bode Chiropractic Center on Poplar Street.

Police charged Reagan with breaking and entering, felony larceny and possession of stolen goods in connection with the Barbra’s break-in. They charged him with attempting to break-in to Bode Chiropractic.

In addition, police charged Reagan with three counts of breaking and entering, felony larceny and possession of stolen goods in connection with a July 27 break-in to Barbra’s, a July 28 break-in to Bode Chiropractic and a July 30 break-in to Bode Chiropractic.

Police also allegedly found Reagan in possession of $277 and a lock box that officers said were stolen from the two businesses.

Reagan was jailed under a $5,000 secured bond. His first court hearing is today.

Cocaine Arrest: State Highway Patrol Troopers arrested a Raeford man Saturday and charged him with attempting to sell cocaine.

Terry Leon Chalmers, 36, was charged with possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine with intent to sell.

Chalmers was jailed under a $250,000 secured bond. Chalmers first court date is today.

Breaking and Entering: Pinehurst police have made two more arrests in connection with a June 12 break-in at a Pinehurst house owned by Wonderful Life Construction Co.

Detective Daryl Bender charged Jeffery David Musselwhite, 36, and Jimmy Franklin Ragan, 45, both of Hope Mills, with breaking and entering and felony larceny for allegedly stealing a $950 Kenmore Refrigerator.

Police previously arrested two Fayetteville men in connection with those break-ins.

Both Musselwhite and Ragan were jailed under $5,000 secured bonds and their first court hearing is today.

Resisting Arrest: Carthage police arrested Misty Blair Taylor on June 12 and charged her with felony speeding to elude arrest.

Taylor is accused of running from police after a minor traffic violation. She lost control of her vehicle while attempting to make a turn.

Her first court date is Aug. 7.

Larceny: Robbins police arrested Keith Allan Minor, 21, and charged him with stealing a golf cart from the Robbins Fire Department.

Minor is charged with felony larceny for the theft of a 1998 Yamaha golf cart worth $3,500. Minor’s first court hearing is Thursday.

Carthage police arrested an Aberdeen man July 22 in connection with the larceny of a payphone from the Hillcrest Community Store.

Police charged Thomas K. Pugsley with the larceny. Pugsley was already in the Moore County jail on similar charges.

Purse Snatching: Southern Pines police arrested an Aberdeen man Thursday and charged him with common law robbery and assault on a female.

Timothy Antoine Baker, 22, is accused of pushing a woman to the ground and stealing her purse. Valuables in the purse were worth $150.
